Welcome to The Pencil Society.
I’ve avoided this for so long because of blank page syndrome and for some reason just kept putting off starting. It’s not that I don’t like writing, I actually really enjoy it, but it’s the pressure of that first post, ya know?
When starting this, I wanted to create something that had the vibe of that cool art club you wanted to join in school, one that felt like it was a secret club, so I am introducing The Pencil Society.
It’s here that I want to share my process, thoughts, techniques, and more, along with some more general updates and things.
So, if you’re new here, a little about me:
I have been drawing since I could hold a pencil
I am neurodivergent (ADHD)
I have a rescue shih tzu named Teddy Bear who I adopted April 6, 2013
I am a Learn to Skate instructor
I figure skate, specifically ice dance
Children’s books are a newer venture for me and I started my career in lettering
I have a bad habit of always needing to be creating something, this has led to me learning that I love to make brushes for Photoshop, Procreate, and Fresco, and mockups and have a goal of making them all look as realistic as possible
I have an unhealthy obsession with bags, my favorite everyday tote is my AllSaints Ray East West tote I got used off Poshmark, my second is my Tumi travel backpack that my parents got me for Christmas right before the world shut down
Engraving is a new venture I am playing with and am hoping over time to start offering it at local events
I’m not going to do any set posting schedule yet, as I don’t want to overwhelm my brain because I tend to have an all or nothing mentality and don’t want to immediately abandon this platform.
